AlgomaTrad Family Camp 2022 now open for registration!

The 19th Annual Algoma Traditional Music, Dance, and Heritage Arts Family Camp (AlgomaTrad Family Camp 2022) is now open for registration. The camp runs from Monday evening, August 08 to Sunday morning, August 14.  Register Now or find out more About Camp.

AlgomaTrad Family Camp 2022 features an exciting cast of great Canadian musicians and artists , including:

  • Alanna Jenish – 2020 Central Canadian Bluegrass Awards Fiddle Player of the Year, multi-instrumentalist (guitar, mandolin), and Old-time Canadian stepdancer ;
  • Adrianna Ciccone – fiddler, Old-time Canadian stepdancer and 2015 Canadian Folk Music Awards Instrumental Artist of the Year;
  • Hannah Naiman – caller, multi-instrumentalist (fiddle, guitar, clawhammer banjo), award-winning children’s performer, and 2017 Canadian Folk Music Awards Traditional Singer of the Year ;
  • James Stephens – multi-instrumentalist (fiddle, viola, bass, guitar, mandolin), award-winning producer/engineer, and arranger;
  • Nathan Smith – singer-songwriter and fiddler and member of the Barrel Boys and Vinta;
  • Emilyn Stam – pianist, fiddler, and accordion player and member of Vinta, Emilyn is well-known to AlgomaTrad campers as a superb instructor;
  • Spencer Murray – Highland and Uilleann piper and award-winning Irish flute player;
  • John David Williams – world music clarinetist and diatonic accordionist and member of Vinta;
  • Alan Mackie – bass player and old-time fiddler and member of Vinta;
  • Lea Kirstein – multi-instrumentalist (fiddle, viola, and cello), educator, concert presenter, and Artistic Director of World on a String;
  • Shifra Cooper – choir leader and children’s programming facilitator;
  • Steáfán Hannigan – Irish musician, author, composer, audio engineer, musicologist, theatre technical director, and instrument maker.
  • Andre Lemieux and Sean Donnelly – professional dry stone wallers (Dry Stone Wall Association of Great Britain certified) and heritage stone masons ;
  • Denis Frechette – our resident blacksmith; and more.
