Wrapping up the 2017 AlgomaTrad Family Camp

It was a most wonderful week of music, dancing, heritage arts, food, and community!

We thank all of our amazing volunteers including our Board – there are so many of you who have helped in so many ways.  We couldn’t function without you!!  And we appreciate you so, so much.

We thank our beautiful staff who inspire and enable people of all ages.

We thank all who came as registrants because you are all unique and add so much positive energy and diversity to the community.

We thank everyone for supporting the auction – over $8000 was raised for the Bursary Fund which helps keep programming accessible to everyone.

We thank our Island hosts who housed staff and made them feel comfortable and at home on St. Joseph Island.

We thank the St. Joseph Island Coffee Roasters who support AlgomaTrad and who contribute to the overall well being of all by roasting the best coffee!

We thank our local farmers, gardeners, and Stillcroft Bakehouse and Farm for making the best fresh produce and bread available to the community for the week.

We thank all you who attended yet another stunning Staff Concert…what a gorgeous night of music and dance.

We thank St. Joseph Township and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 374 for renting their facilities to AlgomaTrad for another year.

We thank all of you who contributed to the “Matching Funds” initiative that occurred during camp.  More than $7750 came in, which amounted to a total of $15,500 going towards the development of the heritage arts centre site on the F&G Line.  AlgomaTrad is working towards becoming a Charitable organization but, in the meantime, charitable donations can still be made through “Canada Helps” and our partner organization, Jumblies Theatre will forward these funds to AlgomaTrad and issue tax deductible receipts to you as contributors.

Finally, a huge thank you to Steve and Mary for buying the Music Camp property and being the most supportive and loving landlords we could ever imagine having – so that we can continue with our life long vision of creating a beautiful hand built place that will continue to inspire and enable diverse people of all ages through hands-on learning, creating and celebration through meaningful arts, culture and heritage experiences.
