ALGOMATRAD’S SECOND ANNUAL CROKINOLE TOURNAMENT FunDRAISER

Have a finger-flicking, biscuit-busting great time while raising funds for AlgomaTrad Centre. This exciting and fun evening of crokinole is open to everyone 12 years and older and features prizes for winners, live music, a special “Shoot for the 20” competition, delicious snacks, and a cash bar.

Participants will play a series of doubles crokinole games with a new partner each time.  Add up your individual scores to compete for first, second or third place prizes.

The AlgomaTrad Crokinole tournament occurs at the Legion Hall, Richards Landing. Doors open at 6:30 and the competition begins at 6:45. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged—please register HERE  Walk-ins are welcome! Adults $20, Students $10.

Let us know when you register if you can bring your crokinole boards and disks or a card table.  Enjoy a fun evening with new and old friends while helping to bring the AlgomaTrad Centre to life. Our Guest Artists!

Ava and Thomas Paufler, a sister-brother duo currently living in Dunn’s Valley, sing lovely harmony together and are students of the fiddle, guitar, and piano. They have been playing fiddle and performing since they were very young, with a varied repertoire that includes folk songs, scottish melodies, and Cape Breton fiddle tunes, that wonderful hotbed of Scottish music being the home of their parents. They have been learning these traditions with some of the best teachers in Canada, including Julie Schryer, Wendy MacIsaac, and Dwayne Cote, as well as in workshops at St. Anne’s Celtic College in Cape Breton.

Michaela Harcourt hails from Southern Ontario but currently resides and works on an organic farm in Sylvan Valley. Michaela was taught to play guitar by her grandma when she was young, starting with finger picking techniques and flamenco style songs. She learned to sing with her sister in high school, singing primarily folk songs, and has only recently started doing small open mic performances at Algoma Trad last summer!
