Teilhard Frost
Teilhard Frost is a folk musician specializing in ‘traditional’ fiddle tunes and song. He has a keen interest in the music of Appalachia and the roots/routes by which it came. As one third of acclaimed high stepping trio Sheesham, Lotus and ‘Son, Teilhard has toured the world, with the music as their ambassador. They have released 7 albums, including a collection of 78RPM recordings made in England on a 1938 Presto Lathe with Lorna Fulton, Lathe Revival, Northumbria University.
Joining forces with Jason Mercer, Teilhard has released The Os Project, an album of Banjo & Baritone Sax dance music, as well as award winning soundtrack and film music, advertising spots and music for live theatre.
In 2021 Michael Duguay formed a band with Teilhard, Liam Cole and Jason Mercer to record a double length album. This was recorded live over the period of a week using a Peterborough church and is awaiting release.
Teilhard has had a long history with AlgomaTrad, both as a teacher and performer, putting on some of the our most memorable concerts ever at the Camp, at the Old Town Hall with Sheesham and Lotus, and a house concert in the middle of a blizzard just before Covid closed everything down in 2020.
Teilhard lives with his family on Wolfe Island, where he makes banjos, supper and his bed.

Chris Coole
Toronto-based singer-songwriter Chris Coole is known as one of the bright lights of his generation on the clawhammer banjo. He’s played on over two hundred recordings, worked as a sideman/producer with Canadian song-writing master David Francey, and, is a member of the sensational neo-traditional trio The Lonesome Ace Stringband. His self-penned material has previously been featured on three solo albums – Old Dog (2010), The Tumbling River (2016), and The Old Man and the C Chord (2022) and has been covered by artists such as The Grascals, Eli West, and Jenny Whiteley.
Chris wrote his first song at age seven; a 6/8 dirge about Wayne Gretzky. Since that auspicious and uniquely Canadian beginning, he has continued to hone his craft and to date has recorded over fifty original songs and instrumentals.
“Renowned for his clawhammer banjo picking, Coole now establishes himself as a gripping songwriter”— Penguin Eggs Magazine!
