O’Schrave CD, David Francey in Richards Landing, Wildwood Soul at the Bruce Mines Fair and other exciting news

September Greetings to everyone,

 We have finally come out of the long tunnel that is AlgomaTrad and looking to new projects and events coming up this fall.

Sunflower, our Jersey cow, and ourselves are really excited about releasing the new recording by The O’Schraves (for those of you who don’t know, that is our O’Gorman/Schryer/Lefebvre family band) …we are entering the final stages! The recording is chock-full of our usual mix of Canadian, French, Irish, Scottish (and at least one Swedish) new and traditional tunes and songs, including a beautiful rendition of Zach’s own “Little Log Cabin”. We are trying to raise some of the money for the manufacturing costs, so if you would like to help us get this recording out (here comes the pitch…), we’d be ecstatic if you would consider pre-ordering a CD. Sounds like a TV ad…anyway, we are serious, so if you could give us a bit of a hand with this, send a cheque or money order (or stacks of bills in an unmarked envelope would be ok too) for the amount of $20 and we will send you the CD as soon as we get it from the manufacturer…plus we’ll sign it so you don’t have to ask us for our autograph…and let’s see what else can we give you, we don’t have any secret decoder rings hanging around…well, our eternal thanks, how’s that? Maybe we’ll make a big fuss over you and put your name on our website. Ok, so the address at the old O’Schrave Farm is The O’Schraves, 340 McKinnon Sd. Rd. RR#2, Desbarats, ON P0R 1E0. The CD will have great artwork, pictures of us (cute kids! gorgeous woman! and…oh, well…), and 14 or 15 tracks of great music…at least we think so. OK, nuff said.

WILDWOOD SOUL, the folk trio featuring Zach and Benoit with captivating songstress Lorissa Scriven is performing this coming

Saturday night, September 7,  at the Bruce Mines Agricultural Fair Show starts at 7PM. Tickets $10, available at the door of the Arena at the Fairgrounds. Heck, the whole fair is a real local treat, we’ve been going to it for years, so check out the website and see what’s going on!

 

DAVID FRANCEY (davidfrancey.com)- Friday, October 11, Richards Landing Old Town Hall – AlgomaTrad is pleased to co-sponsor this concert by one of Canada’s greatest songwriters with a stellar group of musicians…this is one not to be missed, and there are only 100 seats, so you better get your tickets ASAP. David put on a stunning performance last summer at the Richards Landing Fairgrounds new stage. This concert is part of the St. Joseph Township music series and tickets are available at the Township office, call 705 246 2625. Tickets are $25 advance, $30 at the door.
