“Seniors Building Connection through Skill Sharing & Arts and Culture” Program Coordinator, Part-Time

The Senior’s Program Coordinator will work with AlgomaTrad’s Artistic Directors and Board to implement a program in rural central Algoma to engage as many local, rural seniors as possible in the learning and sharing of heritage skills, arts and crafts, including music and dance. Through a program of weekly sharing in a welcoming space which will include lunch, connections will be fostered, new learning and inspiration will occur through participation in activities, and seniors will experience a sense of community, resulting in a lessened feeling of isolation.

The Applicant should:
● Have experience with Arts program administration and implementation, working with the public, and have an interest in senior outreach.
● Be community-minded and comfortable working with all ages in-person and online.
● Be familiar with and understand the mission and mandate of AlgomaTrad.
● Have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to Central Algoma region (Sault Ste. Marie to Thessalon, including St. Joseph Island
● Be able to work at least 160 flexible hours (app. 10 hours/week) between December 02, 2024 and April 04, 2025, not including the holiday season from December 24, 2024 to January 03, 2025. Some evening and weekend hours may be required.

English/French Bilingualism is an asset.

The wage for this position is $30/hour including mercs
