Lea Kirstein Strings Workshop and Jam

AlgomaTrad is hosting a special afternoon fiddle workshop/session and jam with World on a String Founder/Artistic Director Lea Kirsten. Lea will work with novice to intermediate level players in a group setting on bowing and tone technique, then teach a tune or two, followed by a jam. Afternoon will run from 1pm until 5pm including a break. Cost for the afternoon is $30, subsidies available, call to inquire. Non-string players are welcome to the jam session starting at approximately 3:30pm.

Lea is an extremely valued and long-time instructor at the AlgomaTrad Family Camp and performed as part of the AlgomaTrad 2024 Summer Concert Series with her group Medusa. World on a String is a fiddle community in Toronto, with group classes for adult fiddlers, monthly kitchen party jams, and hosting special guest workshops and house concerts. WOS focuses on traditional and modern folk tunes from around the world.
