Broom-Making Workshop with Paul Oak, July 20 (Summer Programs 2024)

In this 4-hour workshop, you will learn to make two different types of hand brooms, the turkey wing broom and the hawk tail broom and make 2-3 brooms to take home! See samples of Paul’s work below.

This course is for participants ages 12 and up and requires some hand strength (for example being able to open a sealed jar).

The course will take place on Saturday, July 20th, from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm, with a break for lunch.

Paul Oak

Paul is a skilled artisan who discovered his passion for green woodworking in 2017. Specializing in spoon carving and broom making, Paul’s work is characterized by its dedication to traditional craftsmanship and use of natural materials and hand tools.
