Thanks for your interest in our upcoming Summer programs, which includes workshops with amazing mentors in fiddle, guitar, blacksmithing and more. See below for more info and links to registration forms.

Music Workshops with The Fitzgeralds!

Thursday July 6th, 4:30 – 5:30 pm.

Guitar accompaniment (intermediate level), beginner fiddle or intermediate fiddle from members of The Fitzgeralds band! $15 to participate, which can be paid at time of workshops.

Blacksmithing Classes with Denis Frechette!

Introductory blacksmithing classes with talented blacksmith Denis Frechette! Learn to make hooks, how to work a coal fire, and the basics of forging! Workshops are available to participants aged 14 and up. Ages 11-13 may participate if accompanied by a parent/guardian. Feel free to sign up for more than one class! We suggest a fee of $25 per class to help cover costs.

Classes will take place during the following dates/times, at the AlgomaTrad Centre (1249 F&G Line, St. Joseph Island):

Tuesday July 18 – 2:30 – 5:00 pm
Wednesday July 19 – 2:00 – 4:30 pm
Wednesday July 19 – 6:00 – 8:30 pm
Tuesday July 25 – 2:30 – 5:00 pm
Wednesday July 26 – 2:00 – 4:30 pm
Wednesday July 26 – 6:00 – 8:30 pm

AlgomaTrad Acoustic Cafe (Open Mic Night) 2023 Sign Ups!

Thursday July 20th & Thursday July 27th, 7-9 pm

The Acoustic Cafe evenings are for local musicians to share their songs or tunes in a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. Musicians of all ages are encouraged to sign up! It will take place at the AlgomaTrad Centre Pavilion, 1249 F&G Line, St. Joseph Island. Friends and family are welcome to attend, please spread the word and bring your friends!
