Garden Box Building Workshop, May 13, AlgomaTrad Centre Pavilion
single post
AlgomaTrad presents a workshop with Zach Lefebvre to assemble take-home, 4’x8′ by 18″ tall, garden boxes on Saturday, May 13, 9am-Noon at the AlgomaTrad Centre Pavilion, 1249 F&G Line, St. Joseph Island. The robust design using heavy-duty metal with cedar framing will ensure a long garden box life. A hinged lid “deer-proofing” option is available for an extra fee. No experience necessary; most of the materials will be pre-cut and Zach will be assisting with the assembly of boxes. Cost for the workshop, including materials, is $250 (without cover) or $330 for a box with a with hinged “deer proofing” cover. We welcome you to register for this fun morning in preparation for a successful 2023 growing season. There are a few spaces subsidized by the Nicholas Missere Bursary fund, please check the registration page for availability.
A limited number of tools will be available, however bringing your own drill/impact driver, would help speed things up.
AlgomaTrad gratefully acknowledges its partnership with the St. Joseph Island Horticultural Society for this workshop as they will share some tips about using the square foot gardening method to get the most out of an available space. We welcome registrants to bring seeds or seedlings to share or trade.
All participants must register, space is limited. (Please note: boxes will not be exactly as shown in photo example.)
